The case of the moth...in the ear

Yes, this nasty thing was IN MY EAR! I'm convinced it's still there. Nasty Nasty Nasty!

Ummmm, yea. I'm sure by the title of this post you get what happened. I mean, really? Who has a moth fly in their ear?

The setting: Aunt and Uncles house with family. All of us are hanging outside on their awesome covered porch.

The story: I am sitting in my chair chatting away, when I see a moth from the corner of my eye. No joke I saw this monster moth before this happened. It literally built up speed and zoomed into my ear! Not just the outside of my ear. I am talking full on inside the ear canal. WTH?
Now, enter me freaking out and pulling at my ear. All while this moth is buzzing and flapping it's dirty, dusty, mothy wings in my ear. Ugggghhh! Finally, after what felt like hours, the stupid bug (use your imagination for the word I really want to use in place of bug) flew out of my ear. You would think that now I am monster free that I would feel better, right? WRONG! You see my sister is the only one that saw the moth fly out. I have been worried for the past 2 days that this bug is still in my ear!

Today, when I cleaned my ears, there was moth dust on the q-tip! No joke. The hubs thought it was funny that I had "moth poop" in my ear. Me, being the sensible person I am, decide that the thing is still in there. Now I don't want to go to the Dr. and pay my co-pay and them tell me the thing is gone. Then I would feel stupid. So, I call my husband when he gets to work and ask him to bring home the ear thingy so he can look in my ear. Well, according to him, the good news is there is no moth in my ear, but the bad news is the moth left lots of poopie dust in my ear. GROSS! I'm totally going to ask my mom for a second opinion tomorrow.
Long story made short. I still think the bug is in there and I totally feel for anyone that has ever had a bug fly in their ear. I will never forget that sound and feeling.

Lesson Learned: Remember to wear cotton balls in ear or earmuffs at all times while outside...

Has this ever happened to any of you?

Where does the time go?

Newborn Gianna

6 Month Gianna

On a daily basis I don't necessarily ask myself this. I often find myself counting down to nap time or bedtime. Blah blah, I'm an awful mom, whatever, but I need my time too. But today is different. My little girl is 6 months old and although the days sometimes seem to go by slow, I can't believe how fast time has gone. It seems like yesterday that I was holding this little peanut that couldn't hold her wobbly head up and all she did was sleep. Now I have a baby who babbles, laughs, and has a huge personality! It seems surreal that in only 6 more months I will have a 1 year old. I just couldn't imagine ever loving something this much and I love knowing that I will love her more and more everyday.

Baby Stats:

Sleep Habits

For 5.5 months I have been a walking zombie. I just didn't understand why you didn't like to sleep at night. This was awful because if you know me you know I love to sleep, but this month you got it! You have been sleeping like a champ. (Lets just hope I didn't just jinx it)
You get a bath every night, which you LOVE, around 6:30, then you eat a 7 ounce bottle, and bed time by 7:45 at the latest. You do, however, sleep no later than 7 AM every morning...even with the tinfoil on the window.

Schedule, Schedule, Schedule

I am a firm believer in having a schedule with you. I just don't think you thrived like you do now without one.

Here is how our day normally runs:
7AM: Wake up time- Daddy always gets up with you in the morning. You get a 7-8 ounce bottle
7:30 AM: Playtime and hang out with Daddy
8AM: Breakfast-usually a fruit w/oatmeal
9:00-11:00AM: Nap time
11:00AM: 6-7 ounce bottle
12:00 PM: Lunch time usually a fruit or veggie
1-1:30 to 3-4 PM (this changes every day): Long Afternoon Nap
5:30-6:00PM: Dinner Time-Veggie w/Rice Cereal
6:15-6:30 PM: Bath Time then read books
7:00-7:30 PM: 7-8 ounce bottle
7:30-7:45PM: Bed Time

In between these times we have play time, reading time, tummy time, etc.

Weight and Length

At your 6 month appointment you weighed 14 pounds 10 ounces and you were 26 inches long.

Hair Color and Eye Color

You are still rocking the reddish/blond fuzzy hair and blue eyes

I feel like I need to start planning a first birthday party soon. There is just so much that I could say about how wonderful you are and how much of a blessing you are in my life, but I truly feel there are no words.

Happy 1/2 birthday my love!
I'll love you always, forever, no matter what.

Agent J and Saturday Night Shenanigans

One of our really good friends decided to have people over Saturday night for a cookout and drinks. I love these nights. Just hanging out with close friends and drinking. This past Saturday went down in the record books. Our friends just recently had a baby too and this was their first baby free night. Wooohooo! "Agent J" (Whose name shall not be mentioned) was a blast and may have shown his nipple more than once and ALMOST signed up for Facebook!

"Agent J"
Apparently "Agent J" couldn't find his mouth while eating dinner. Bless his heart!
At one point in the night I had to use the bathroom. Now I am not exactly sure how long I was in there. In my head I thought it was only 10 to 15 minutes MAX, but looking back I am thinking it was probably closer to an hour! I definitely decided to have a photo shoot. By this point I'm pretty sure I had drank 3/4 of the box of wine. That's right...I said BOX. Don't hate, it's good and it's only like $11! Enjoy...
Before the cookout
Photoshoot Time...Why can't I get this phone out of the picture???
(Ugh, ignore the nails)
Oh Yay! I finally figured it out!
Oh what is the matter with her eyes you may wonder? No worries...that is one eye Billy Willy. He shows up when Jaima has a wee bit too much to drink. Love him!
Look at these their sweet pups! See anything wrong with this picture?
And this little sweet thang was hanging with her Mimi on Saturday night :)

So what did ya'll do this weekend?
Did one eye Willy Billy come visit any of you?
Can't wait to see who wins the Scentsy giveaway!!

It's too HOT to do anything

Literally.

It is way too HOT to do anything. I would be perfectly happy laying in my bed all day long. This morning I had planned on running. Ummm nooo. Between, my kid crying most of the early morning and it being 80 degrees at 7 this morning, no thank you. My running plans will have to be taken inside for the rest of the summer it seems. Shrub suggested we start running a 6 am, I politely declined. That is still sleepy time for me.

Speaking of sleepy time. Gianna literally just starting fussing and so I scooped her up and proceeded to go tinfoil her window. Mommy needs some shut eye. I'll let you know if it works as good for me as it does for Raven. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. (another post, another day)

((Don't you just love my randomness. ))

Last night I tried a new recipe and I think it was a success.

Enchilada Casserole
Ingredients
1 pound of chicken
1 packet of taco seasoning
1 can of hot rotel
1 can original rotel
2 cans of black beans
1 can of red enchilada sauce
Sour Cream
Shredded cheese
Corn tortillas

I cooked the chicken, 2 cans of rotel, and taco season for 6 hours on high in the crockpot during the day. During the last 30 minutes I added in the 2 cans of black beans.
I then took the crockpot mixture (by this time the chicken had fallen apart and was nicely shredded) and mixed it in a large bowl with the sour cream and some hot sauce. I literally did the rest of this recipe to taste. I layered a greased pan with the tortillas, then the red enchilada sauce, then my mixture of chicken and beans, cheese, and repeat.

Bake at 350 uncovered for 20 to 30 minutes. Yummy!

Sometimes I Can't Think

Sometimes I can't think of things to blog about so I don't. I had this whole post about seriously Thursdays written up but I forgot to write yesterday. Whoopsie.

What I can tell you is that I am only 8 pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight! Yay! Now, I can tell you that I was not one of those people that while pregnant I was sporting a cute baby bump and was glowing. Ummmm no! I was the whale you see on TV. I grew everywhere. If you don't believe me, refer back to my first post. (That pic was also taken when I was only 7 months pregnant and in Costa Rica)

I will also tell you that I have to work really hard to lose weight. It didn't just fall off me like I wished it to. I currently do the C25k which includes running in 90 heat and me dry heaving on the side of the road. The later(and yes...I know it's supposed to be latter) may be me exaggerating, but I really feel like it...sometimes.

Sometimes...I find it fun to exaggerate too, not in serious situations, but I find it makes a story more interesting. Now I'm getting off topic.

This post is a brag about me because I'm proud I'm down so much weight since I did gain 60 pounds. Thank goodness I had her at 37.5 weeks, I mean who knows how much I would of really gained. Keep reading guys! A surprise is in store next week and then I may have something else up my sleeve.

Oh, anyone have any advice how to deal with a teething baby???

Horrible Spellers and Whiny Babies

I am both of these. I kid. I kid. I am just a horrible speller, but my child is so whiny lately that it is driving me insane. Like I want (spell check is telling me want is spelled wrong WTH?) to pull my hair out. I stay home with her and lately I find myself staring at the clock counting down to nap time and bed time. Seriously, when it hits 5:30pm I get all excited because we start getting ready for bed time. Woohooo! I don't know what her deal is but I really hope she gets over it soon. And no she isn't sick or anything.

I mean does this make me a horrible mother? Does anyone else count down to nap time or bedtime?

As far as spelling, I am awful! If you see something spelled wrong on here just skip over it, ignore it, whatever. I do try to fix it with the check spelling feature but sometimes it changes it to the wrong thing. I have an iPhone and it tends to auto correct everything for me. Sometimes it's funny and sometimes it's annoying and I have to fight with it. I'll leave this post with a recent conversation I had with my sister (shrub) on my iPhone. This conversation just proves how horrible of a speller I am.
And if I had added the next screen shot you would have seen that my shrub was hahahahaing too because she does the same thing too, so I'm not the only one.

Have a great weekend everyone!!
